EXCELLENT Based on 297 reviews Posted on Merimbula07/11/2025Verified The Best Pub This is a proper pub in every way. Incredible vibe, the best bar staff, first class beers and excellent food. I was a sole traveller and the staff were quick to grab my name and greet me as such on each visit ( and there were a good few) A mix of Brixham folk and visitors were all treated the same - with amazing friendliness and professionalism. I had the best pub Sunday roast lunch for a long time and all the food was faultless. Thank you, especially Sophie, Molly and Sam (yes, I got to know their names as well, that's how friendly it is), for making my visit to Brixham super special.Posted on Bronwyn01/11/2025Verified Outstanding! Beautiful, cosy pub with excellent food and outstanding service! We visited at the beginning of our week in Brixham for a meal with our family. We absolutely loved it and cancelled our meal elsewhere to return at the end of the week! It's a gorgeous traditional pub which is so cosy and comfortable with outstanding staff. Cold windy evening, the fire was lit and it had a lovely atmosphere which seems very popular with locals. Our food was extremely good and very fairly priced. The staff are very welcoming and chatty which we enjoyed. We ate upstairs in the restaurant on the first night and in the bar on the second visit which was just as comfortable. This was our favourite place to eat in Brixham and was much better overall for food quality, atmosphere, service and cost than other more expensive restaurants we visited. We will definitely return on our next visit to Brixham!Posted on Helen S08/10/2025Verified Warm, friendly, great food and atmosphere. Tuesday evening in October in Brixham - who needs to book a place to eat? How wrong were we?! We visited The New Quay which was bustling, every table taken, people standing at the bar, but the staff were friendly, immediately welcoming and promised to find us a table in ten minutes or so. The pub itself is the cutest, quirkiest building, two floors and not a straight wall to be seen. A table was found upstairs for us and food ordered. We chose the small plates which were not so small and very impressive. It was delicious! Chorizo in honey, garlic mushrooms, prawns in chilli, calamari, spicy meatballs, patatas bravas, and the pudding... Wow! The wine list was extensive too. The service was excellent, staff very friendly and upbeat. Nothing was too much trouble. We don't have a dog but the place was very dog friendly with treats at the bar, even a few well behaved dogs sitting patiently under the tables. The prices were very reasonable. We had a great experience and can't wait to go back. Thank you.Posted on Philip O05/10/2025Verified A really great Brixham pub In my opinion, and in my recent experience, this is a really great pub. Have been in several times over the last couple of months while on visits to Brixham. Have only ever had drinks, but the menu looks really good and demands exploration on a future visit. Good beer, very well kept and served. An exceptionally eclectic and interesting wine list. And, last but far from least, great service from behind the bar and friendly and communicative customers.

The roast was delicious. I recommend the pigs in blankets as an extra and the pavlova was superb. All the staff were very nice and attentive.Posted on Heather Barton01/03/2026Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Went for steak night. Had a last minute dinner out on a dark wet January night! Starters were lovely, Garlic mushrooms. & portion of calamari, followed by a fantastic set of main meals Lamb shank and a Beef pie and selection of vegetables. And an awesome apple pie. Well worth a visit.Posted on Paul Grasby03/01/2026Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Tucked away from the harbour, an almost secret bolthole of a pub. Good beers, decent whisky selection and lots of character. Open fire in the winter too. Went in for something to eat for the first time. It was good 'pub grub' in a much loved local pub, made all the better by the lovely people that work there.
